The submarines of the Northern Fleet have worked ascent to the surface of the Arctic Ocean as part of exercises
The head multi-purpose nuclear submarine of the project 885 and two strategic submarines of the project 667BDRM have worked ascent in the ice-drifts among the Arctic ice in the framework of the planned training sessions of the submarine forces of the fleet, press service of the Northern Fleet reported.
“The underwater nuclear-powered cruiser Tula , Novomoskovsk and Severodvinsk were involved in the training under the ice of the Arctic Ocean. The submariners worked out the full range of under-ice navigation tasks, including the search for polynyas in a given area and surfacing in the ice, "the press service specified.
In addition, the submarines of the Northern Fleet carried out a number of studies on the use of weapons under the ice, the press service added.
Tula (K-114) and Novomoskovsk (K-407) are strategic submarines of the third generation of the project 667BDRM Dolphin. Submarines carry the R-29RMU2 Sinev ballistic missile. It is a modified version of the R-29RM rocket, equipped with a new control system and the use of GLONASS satellite navigation.
The submarine cruiser Severodvinsk (K-560) is the lead ship of the project 885 Yasen and the first submarine of the fourth generation. The cruiser is armed with Onyx and Caliber cruise missiles, and is also equipped with 10 torpedo tubes of 533 mm caliber (30 torpedoes are included in the ammunition), TASS specified.
