President Putin Held Security Council Meeting
The President of Russia Vladimir Putin held a meeting with permanent members of the Security Council, the state leader press service reported.
Participants in the meeting (Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Anton Vaino, Secretary of the Security Council Nikolai Patrushev, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, Director of the Federal Security Service Alexander Bortnikov and Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service Sergei Naryshkin) exchanged views on the situation around Palmyra, as well as the advances made by the Syrian Army in Aleppo.
Besides, the upcoming Putin's visit to Japan later this week, including matters that will be discussed during the talks, was in the focus. The members of the Security Council also discussed social economic situation in Russia.
