Trump and Clinton Equal Across Three Key US States
Presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump have nearly identical favorability ratings in three key swing US states, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released on Tuesday.
"Six months from election day, the presidential races between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump in the three most crucial states, Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania, are too close to call," Quinnipiac Poll Assistant Director Peter Brown said.
US Senator Bernie Sanders, who is still vying for the Democratic party nomination, fares better than Clinton against Trump, the poll noted.
In Florida and Pennsylvania, Clinton is leading Trump 43 percent to 42 percent. She has less support in Ohio, with 39 percent to Trump's 43 percent.
Sanders polls best against Trump in Pennsylvania at 47 percent to Trump's 41 percent, and is leading the billionaire businessman in all three states polled.
Quinnipiac noted that the poll focused on Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania because no US presidential candidate has won an election without taking at least two of the three states.
