Montenegrin Opposition Demands Regime Change
Demonstrators gather in the central square of Podgorica. Police had to block the entrance to the parliament building because of a large overall number of protesters.
A representative of the Democratic Front (DF) Milan Knezevic called the head of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Chairman of the Parliament of Montenegro Ranko Krivokapic to submit to opposition's demands and establish a transitional government and hold fair and transparent elections.
In addition, SDP representatives who came to the Assembly were met by cries of "Thieves!" and slogans for the dissolution of the current government, headed by PM Milo Djukanovic.
Demonstrations in the Montenegrin capital are confined to a vote of confidence in the government of Djukanovic. DF activists plan to gather tens of thousands of disgruntled citizens in the central square in Podgorica.
