Montenegro Opposition Rally Will Gather On December 20
"Russian peacekeeper" has contacted one of the members of the opposition party "Democratic Front", Iva Baykovic to get information about the meeting, scheduled to take place in the capital of Montenegro, Podgorica on December 20.
According to Iva, the rally will start at 18:00 local time. The bulk of the protesters will be presented by the party "Democratic Front" and ordinary people who support the idea of holding a national referendum on joining NATO and holding early elections.
Protesters gather in front of the Parliament of Montenegro, and in contrast to previous mee-ings of the Montenegrin opposition will not hold a march through the streets of the city, instead of that, they planned some performances on stage, that Iva, however, did not disclose prematurely.
"Next Montenegrin opposition demonstration will be held on Wednesday, December 23, in Podgorica. And this time, as before, there will be a procession from the Parliament building to the National Television building," - said Iva.
In response to a question about why the opposition will be represented by exclusively the "Democratic Front", Iva Baykovich said that other representatives of Montenegrin opposition decided to wait and try to find an agreement on a possible reform with the chairman of the Assembly of Montenegro Ranko Krivokapic.
For over two months Montenegro has been suffering a series of mass protests. Citizens demand resignation of the country's prime-minister M.Djukanovic and his administration and the forming of a transitional government which should conduct fair and transparent elections. Also the protesters are against joining NATO.
