Russia Sends Agreement to Turkey on Stream Pipeline

28.07.2015 12:11

Russian Energy Ministry source said Tuesday Russia has prepared and dispatched an intergovernmental agreement to Turkey on the first thread of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline project to deliver fuel to Southern Europe.

“We have sent (the intergovernmental agreement) on the first thread…The Russian side has prepared its proposals on the first thread of the Turkish Stream and has sent it to the Turkish side,” the source told journalists.

The agreement was sent several weeks ago and added that the remaining legs of the pipeline will be covered in separate intergovernmental agreements.

The Turkish Stream is a proposed pipeline that will run from Russia to Turkey across the Black Sea, from where it will extend through Greece to southern Europe. It is expected to become operational in December 2016.
