Russian Air Force Tactical Drills in Siberia Start Monday
According to the Russia's Eastern Military District, during a month-long exercise in Siberia Russian Air Force fighter jets and ground support aircraft will practice penetration of "enemy's" air defenses.
"During the drills Su-30SM fighter jets and Su-25 attack aircraft will practice interoperability in penetration of air defenses and joint attacks on communications networks behind enemy lines," the district's press service stated. The drills are to involve 2,000 personnel and more than 30 aircraft.
Earlier the press service said Russian signal troops had begun liaison field exercises in nine Eastern Military District regions. Russia's Defense Ministry announced in December 2014 that about 4,000 military drills were planned to be held in Russia in 2015.
