Chinese Foreign Minister Plans to Visit Moscow in April
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will visit Moscow in April to finalize preparations for Chinese President Xi Jinping's upcoming visit, Russian Ambassador to China Andrei Denisov said.
"The existing policy is that before visits by top officials, the foreign minister usually goes to the country to finish the preparations for the visit. So we expect Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Moscow somewhere in the beginning of April to discuss the current issues and to prepare for President Xi Jinping's visit to Russia in particular. The dates are not agreed upon yet," Denisov added.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov speaks on the phone during a meeting with the The Russian ambassador said that in May, Xi will be in Moscow to take part in celebrations for the 70th anniversary of Victory Day. Russian President Vladimir Putin, in turn, is expected to attend celebrations of the 70th anniversary of Chinese victory in the China-Japan war, which will take place in September in Beijing.
