OSCE mission under fire in Gorlovka

19.01.2015 02:11

A spokesman for the headquarters of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) said that a group of representatives of the Joint Centre for Control and Co-ordination (JCCC) situated in Gorlovka (Donetsk region) are currently under fire from large-calibre Uragan weapons of the Ukrainian army.

According to his information, members of the monitoring mission of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) have barely survived finding shelter in a private house's cellar. They reported long intense artillery fire at Gorlovka's civillian quarters from three directions.

Due to the ongoing shelling JCCC members' evacuation is being postponed.

The representatives of OSCE monitoring mission are currently discussing the subject of a partial evacuation of the mission' members from Donetsk to a safer zone away from the battlegrounds.

According to DPR HQ representative, JCCC members have already documented the unprecedented scale and intensity of those Ukrainian strikes for the first time since the start of the commissions' work.

Furthermore, it is now obvious, that the shelling by Ukrainian troops is being done on the order of Ukrainian president P.Poroshenko. As an evidence to this are the words of Ukrainian presidents advisor U.Biryukov on January 18, who said that Kiev forces have received an order to open massive fire against "rebel" positions.
